I'm using reports 6i patch 10 on a Oracle , all of it is installed on a windows xp system.

When I try to run one of my own reports through the web (still staying on the local machine) this works well for displaying the parameter form.

Hitting the submit button on the parameter form causes

Error: the requested url was not found, or cannot be served at this time

Oracle Reports Server CGI- reports server name is not specified

But the server name is in the command line

When I run the same report with paramform = no and specifying the required parameters in the command line everything runs well.

When running the supplied test report everything runs ok, with and without the parameter form.

Any idea what's going on?

Do I need to give more detailed info?

regards, Piet

    • Hi Pieter

      Are you sending the user parameters from the Parameter Form to Reports Server correctly.

    • Well, I have all the user parameters required for the report on the parameter form and that's where I change their values, I don't do anything specific for sending them to the reports server, as far as I know this is handled by the report when you enter values in the user parameters.

    • Are you able to run diagnostic commands on the Reports Server?

    • Running it the way you specified it works well, also with keymap everything is ok then.

    • Problem solved

      I installed reports 6i and patch 10. I do not know if the problem is caused by (or not yet solved by) patch 10.

      There are 2 templates (conf10.tdf and conf20.tdf) where something is missing.

      If you look at the report properties and then the before form value you should have

      <body bgcolor="#ffffff">

      <form method=post action="_action_">

      <input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value="_hidden_">

      but in my templates

      <input name="hidden_run_parameters" type=hidden value="_hidden_">

      was missing, so the complete command line will never be generated when the parameter form is shown first.

      regards, Piet
